Mumbai, May 23, 2025: As part of the Ministry of AYUSH’s national campaign ‘100 Days, 100
Cities, 100 Organisations, K J Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies, Somaiya Vidyavihar University,is all set to host Yogotsav– a celebration marking Day 24 of the countdown to International Day of Yoga 2025. The event will be graced by Shri Chandrakant Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, who will serve as the Chief Guest.
Organised under the grant from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), the event will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at Gargi Plaza, located in the heart of Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s lush-green, zero-waste campus.

The day will begin with a mass yoga demonstration from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, following the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), and will be followed by a series of sessions focused on
traditional wellness. These include a Marma Chikitsa workshop by Ayurvedacharya Dr. Sunil
Kumar Joshi, and a guest lecture by Dr. Manmath Gharote, Director of The Lonavala Yoga Institute, on “The Importance of Yoga in the Modern Era.”
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlights the link between personal
well-being and environmental consciousness. With its expansive green spaces, water
conservation systems, and sustainable campus practices, Somaiya Vidyavihar University offers a fitting setting for a grounded and reflective celebration.
Through platforms like Yogotsav, Somaiya Vidyavihar University continues to promote Indian knowledge systems while engaging students, scholars, and communities in meaningful dialogue around health, heritage, and holistic living.
